Pregnancy
Mother’s bodies are constantly changing during and after pregnancy. These necessary physical shifts can cause minor or major discomfort. But with the use of gentle chiropractic techniques, mothers can stay more comfortable, pain free, and active throughout their pregnancy.
Chiropractic care provides relief during pregnancy for:
- Neck discomfort
- Shoulder and upper back pain from increasing breast size
- Low back pain
- Hip discomfort and pubic pain
- Headaches
- Wrist and hand discomfort, or 'carpal tunnel syndrome'
- Leg pain, or 'sciatica'
- Pelvic and round ligament pain
Pelvic Disorders
Pelvic pain or other pelvic floor conditions such as stress incontinence and pain with intercourse are quite common in women. Unfortunately, a lot these women don’t pursue treatment options because they think they are alone in experiencing these problems. Seeing this need in the women of her community, Dr. Gerbi worked with a team of medical doctors and physical therapists to create a comprehensive wellness plan in order to treat the musculoskeletal causes of pelvic pain and other disorders.
Infants
The process of being born can be challenging. Some infants have a difficult time adjusting to their new surroundings. Infants who have trouble breast feeding, turning their heads evenly in both directions, have torticolis, or are colicky, can be helped by gentle chiropractic adjustments and craniosacral therapy.
These gentle techniques take stress and tension off of the nervous system. This has a calming and balancing effect on the baby's body and mental state.
